Job Opportunity: Researcher on equity, diversity and inclusion in the net-zero carbon economy in Canada

Dr. Christina Hoicka is searching for a part-time researcher (PhD or Post-Doc) to conduct a systematic review for the McConnell Foundation about equity, diversity and inclusion in the net-zero carbon economy in Canada. The researcher will help Dr. Hoicka’s team identify and categorize EDI activities that are found with these organizations, and identify organizations that may not be mainstream, but potentially from equity-seeking groups. The researcher will also ensure the team has identified the appropriate list of organizations working towards NZCE and identified equity, diversity and inclusion activities, to help author a draft and final report and to run a workshop with McConnell Foundation fundees.

It is anticipated that the researcher would work about 1 to 1.5 days per week (on average) between mid-June to October, possibly longer. Although this is a contract, the academic goal with this is to publish a paper in a journal like ecological economics, so this could be a co-authorship if that is of interest.

Understanding of what NZCE activities are and familiarity with what is occuring in Canada, what EDI activities are, and past experience with systematic reviews are all assets. Unfortunately, due to timing of the work, this is only open to anyone already eligible to work in Canada. This project could form a manuscript/chapter for a phd thesis, or a small project for a post-doctoral researcher.

If this is of any interest, please send Dr. Hoicka (c.e.hoicka [at] gmail.com) a copy of your CV and a letter providing details of experience with: what NZCE activities are and familiarity of them in Canada (see here for a definition), defining EDI activities, and past experience with systematic reviews, sampling or creating datasets.
