Shaun Sellers
Shaun Sellers — President
Shaun Sellers is an ecological economist with a PhD in Natural Resource Sciences from McGill University as part of Leadership for the Ecozoic program, an MSC in Ecological Economics from the University of Leeds, and a Bachelors in Business Management from Antioch University. She has worked in sustainability consulting with small businesses and non-profit organizations in Ontario, and has started her own businesses: a fair trade & organic chocolate company in Maple Leaf, Ontario, and before that, a second-hand bookstore cafe in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. In both consulting and entrepreneurship, her focus on supply chains and fair trade led to an interest in systems of provision and trade governance. Her current research is in ecological macroeconomic theorizing for post-growth/degrowth trade governance. She has been involved in CANSEE/SCANÉÉ since 2018 and served as vice president from 2023 through 2025. She has published in the journals Sustainability, Challenges in Sustainability, and Ecosystem Services, and started and ran a public discussion series on ecological economics entitled 'Long Talks in the Woods'. She lives in the woods in Ontario.
Dr. Megan Egler
Megan Egler — Vice President
Megan is an ecological economist with the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW), where she provides economic support to public interest lawyers fighting for environmental justice and human rights. Before joining ELAW, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria with the Accelerating Community Energy Transformation Initiative. She recieved her Phd in Natural Resources specializing in Ecological Economics from the University of Vermont, and her academic work focuses on the political economies, industrial relations, and cultural politics of energy and extraction. She has contributed to efforts advocating accountability for fossil fuel liabilities and more just energy and mining practices in Canada and the United States. Megan is also a degrowth organizer and a regular collaborator in politically motivated performance art. She has been involved with CANSEE since 2018 and previously served on the board of ISEE.
Geoff Garver
Geoff Garver — Director
Dr. Geoffrey Garver teaches environmental courses at McGill University and Concordia University in Montreal and coordinates law and governance research for the Leadership for the Ecozoic program.
Jason Hawkins
Jason Hawkins — Director
Jason Hawkins is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary. Previously, he was a faculty member at the University of Nebraska. He has experience working on transportation engineering and planning in academia, consulting, and government. Jason is a recipient of the Eric Pas Award for his contributions to the theory and econometrics of transportation and land use modeling. His research draws on theory and methods from engineering, economics, and geography to quantify household behaviour, with applications to transportation, location, and consumption choice. Madhu Kanji
Madhu Kanji — Secretary Treasurer
Madhu Kanji serves as the Financial Officer. She is a life-long learner with majors in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Political Studies, Sociology, 2 Masters in Economics as well as a Certificate in Geographical Information Systems. Madhu is passionate about Ecological Economics and Toastmasters. She is currently serving as one of the trio of District Directors in Toastmasters. She is also the Financial Officer of a Green Party EDA. Her work experiences include Teaching and serving as an Econometrician.

Sabrina Guerrier
Sabrina Guerrier — Communications Officer
Sabrina Guerrier is the Communications Officer for CANSEE/SCANÉÉ and a graduating student in financial mathematics and economics at the University of Ottawa. Her work focuses on making research accessible across languages and communities, connecting data, ecological knowledge, and storytelling. Her background spans national statistical programs, equity-focused analytics, and historical research. She helped develop an award-winning open-data tool on employment equity and contributed to data production and quality assurance in international trade statistics. She also collaborated on building a resource documenting underrepresented mathematicians, emphasizing historical perspectives on mathematical knowledge beyond Eurocentric traditions. Sabrina's research interests center on measuring equity in systemic transitions and ensuring communities have ownership over defining and assessing just outcomes. She also explores found-object photography, poetry, and dance. She has been involved with CANSEE since 2025.
