About CANSEE/SCANÉÉ
Our economies are embedded in social relations and the ecologies of the biosphere of our shared planet. The mandate of CANSEE/SCANÉÉ is to promote the understanding of the nature and implications of this interdependence through research, education, policy analysis, communication, and community building.
The purpose of the Canadian Society for Ecological Economics is to:
Foster transdisciplinary discourse among the social and natural sciences.
Provide a Canadian community of practice for ecological economics.
Research and disseminate information on policies for sustainability and social transformation globally, nationally, and locally.

In order to fulfill this mandate and purpose, CANSEE/SCANÉÉ:
Organizes a biennial conference on ecological economics in Canada in alternate years from the world ISEE conferences.
Organizes biennial meetings in conjunction with the biennial conference in Canada.
Promotes membership and participation in ISEE and CANSEE/SCANÉÉ.
Disseminates information to CANSEE/SCANÉÉ members through a newsletter, website, and other means.
Organizes and promotes events and activities that highlight the Canadian sustainability context and ecological economics.
